Papa's Boeuf bourguignon

Little bear's comment : Papa bear, that was great!
I wish we could eat that everyday!
The pearl onions were very sweet. The sauce was thick and good.
You are a great cook papa bear! ( although mama bear is slightly a better cook.)
Check out these cool photos.

Saturday afternoon, my hubby and my son work together for warm and hearty Boeuf Bourgignon.
How lucky I am~~.

We toasted for the chef. ^^

I made Boeuf Borguignon a couple of times but I always omit a few steps(specially straining liquid part) and the result was very disappointing.
My husband followed recipes from Julia Child and  Laura Calder.
It took about 3 hours and somewhat labor intensive but the reward is so sweet.
Thank you so much my men~

Food Foraging without going to the forest.

Dreaming of food foraging at the wild forest.

Reality is just a city slicker is who i am.

My forest is Ballard Farmers Market.

Today, I purchased a bag of Stinging Nettle and Wood Sorrel - Hello from spring.

I am not sure how to describe stinging nettle's flavor (maybe It does not have a distinctive flavor)but wood sorrel is just like very tart green apple + dash of lemon juice. I love it.

Stinging Nettle

Bringing a whole forest into my dining table is a piece of cake.
Just boiling, chopping and stirring... stirring ....

Voila~
Nettle Risotto.

with crispy Quicy.

Another good day.
Nettle omelette is tomorrow's breakfast. ^^
